Effects of this medicine
・This medicine helps you fall asleep easier and/or stay asleep longer by blocking the binding of the wake-promoting neuropeptides orexins to its receptors.
・It is usually used for treatment of insomnia.
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, take 20 mg of the active ingredient at a time; and for elderly patients, take 15 mg of the active ingredient at a time; once a day, just before bedtime. ・The dose may be adjusted to 10mg of the active ingredient at a time; once a day, just before bedtime, according to the concomitant medicines. This medicine contains 15 mg of the active ingredient per a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
・Take the medicine just before bedtime. Do not take the medicine if you need to get up to do some work after sleeping for a few hours.
・Taking the medicine with food and just after eating should be avoided.
・If you miss a dose, take a dose when you have plenty of time until getting up on the next morning. You should never take two doses at one time.

Precautions while taking this medicine
・Since the effect of this medicine may extend after next morning, and sleepiness and the decline in attentiveness, concentration, reflex movement ability, etc. may occur, do not engage in machinery operation accompanying the risk such as driving a car.
・Do not drink alcohol while taking the medicine. It can increase your chances of getting adverse reactions.
